These articles mainly concern my recent work on the history of late nineteenth century views of freedom of the will, history of the human sciences and kinaesthesia (muscle sensation)..Many were given as talks to non-specialist audiences.
 
The monograph which goes with articles on the will is: Roger Smith, Free Will and the Human Sciences in Britain, 1870-1910 (London: Pickering & Chatto, 2013).
My overview of the history of psychology, written for a general audience, is Between Mind and Nature: A History of Psychology (London: Reaktion Books, 2013; distributed in North America by University of Chicago Press).

PsychologicalSociety28.03.10. 'Psychological society and social change: Russia in transition'. A paper written jointly with Irina Sirotkina in Maarch 2010, and translated by her for publication in a Russian psychology journal.

RSmith2012E-W in English and in Russian language versions.  'Freedom of the will: western alternatives for biological reductionism'. It was designed for a conference on East-West philosophy at the Institute of Philosophy, Moscow Academy of Sciences, 2-25 May 2012, bringing together scholars from different cultures. I argue that western scientific reason is not monolithic but open to different views. Published in English and Russian.
